The South Texas Medical Center, which got its start in 1961, has grown both in acreage and stature. It began as a single medical school and teaching hospital on 100 acres of land in San Antonio’s northwest quadrant. Formed in 1998, the Medical Center Alliance was designed to assist South Texas Medical Center and its members take care of business in sectors where they find themselves short-handed in either expertise or resources.The Medical Center Alliance acts as a collective voice and representative for members in both state and local governments.
